Yamaha Philippines teases the 2020 NMAX’s imminent launch
Yamaha calls us out, and gives us a taste of the new NMAX.
Sometime around July, we reported about a leaked memo that was supposed to be exclusively circulated among Yamaha dealers announcing the arrival of the 2020 NMAX. It even included photos of the upcoming model, full details of its specifications, color options, and prices were all included in the memo. Just yesterday, Yamaha Philippines released a vague post on its official Facebook page that showed a silhouette of an NMAX 155’s front end with a message saying, “We know you know. You saw it coming.”
Yamaha may be referring to the memo that leaked about the arrival of 2020 NMAX 155. Nonetheless, this practically confirms its official launch that will be happening real soon. No dates were announced just yet about its official premiere. However, it did allude to the fact that it will be digitally launched on their YouTube channel.
Among the notable changes we’ve reported in the past, the 2020 NMAX 155 will now be sporting a new full-LED setup for its headlights and tail lamps, with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs). Its LCD digital dashboard will now also have a rectangular shape as opposed to the rounded shape of its predecessor, but still remains highly visible in all lighting conditions. It will be powered by the same 155cc Blue Core 4-stroke, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) capable of producing 15 hp at 8,000 RPM and 13.9 Nm of torque at 6,500.
We’re pretty sure that this announcement has got Yamaha’s fans really excited about the release of the 2020 NMAX 155. After all, since its introduction way back in 2015, it has been practically Yamaha’s bread and butter from its lineup. It has remained as its number one selling motorcycle from its range. Surely, with the arrival of the new model, a flood of people would be scampering back into its dealerships with inquiries just to check out its best-selling scooter to date.
