Triumph Thruxton 400 set to launch in India in August, coming to PH soon?
It’s a fine addition to Triumph’s growing 400cc lineup.
Triumph is on a roll with its small-displacement lineup, and the next model to join the 400cc club could be the best-looking one yet. Meet the Thruxton 400, a café racer-styled machine that’s already been spotted testing in India—and one that could land in the Philippines sooner rather than later.
Built on the same platform as the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, the Thruxton 400 blends modern performance with unmistakable retro charm. Spy photos suggest it’ll sport a café fairing, clip-on handlebars, and bar-end mirrors—all wrapped in that signature Thruxton silhouette that longtime Triumph fans will instantly recognize.
Underneath the styling, expect the same 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine seen on its siblings, putting out around 40 horsepower. It’s paired with a six-speed gearbox, and if the Speed and Scrambler are any indication, it should be smooth, responsive, and beginner-friendly without being boring.
Tech-wise, the Thruxton 400 will likely carry over Triumph’s usual kit: LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. In other words, it’ll have all the modern features you’d expect—but dressed up in old-school swagger.
While Triumph Philippines hasn’t confirmed local availability yet, both the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X launched here not long after their India debut. That makes a local launch for the Thruxton 400 a strong possibility.
As for pricing? The Speed 400 currently retails for P299,000, while the Scrambler 400X goes for P339,000. Expect the Thruxton 400 to slot in somewhere above those two, likely reflecting its premium café racer styling.
