Harley-Davidson officially launches Sportster S in the Philippines
Read on to find out more details about this performance-oriented cruiser.
Few motorcycles hold as legendary a status as the Harley-Davidson Sportster. With more than half a century of legacy, the Sportster is undoubtedly one of the most iconic motorcycles ever. Born as Harley-Davidson’s interpretation of a sporty motorcycle, the Sportster has undergone more than half a century of innovation and evolution, ever since its debut in 1957. For the 2022 model year, the Sportster is now sportier than ever.
On November 20, 2021, Harley-Davidson of Manila officially launched the highly anticipated Sportster S in the Philippines. We were lucky enough to be invited to the official press launch, and we got the chance to get up close and personal with this performance machine. The Harley-Davidson Sportster S is undoubtedly the culmination of decades of engineering and innovation for the MoCo, and represents a significant milestone when it comes to the future of the brand, while keeping solid footing in its rich heritage and legacy.
The Harley Sportster S is powered by the new Revolution Max engine, which consists of a 1,252cc V-twin engine. Similar to what we find in Harley’s adventure bike, the Pan America, the Sportster S is tuned to favor low-end torque and performance. It churns out a healthy 121 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque. This makes it the most powerful Sportster to date, and a mighty good-looking one, too.
From a styling perspective, the Sportster S is clearly inspired by Harley’s performance machines such as the Sportster 1200 XR. It features high-mounted pipes that give the bike a flat-tracker aesthetic. Its massive tires and low-slung stance give it menacing road presence, while it’s cropped tail gives off a retro, performance-oriented aesthetic. It also features a suite of advanced electronic features such as a TFT display, and even Bluetooth smartphone integration.
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The Harley-Davidson Sportster S will be made available in three colors—Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson, and a limited edition Stone Washed White Pearl. Pricing starts at P1,030,000 for the Vivid Black option, and P1,050,000 for the Midnight Crimson and Stone Washed White Pearl colorways.
