The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride celebrates its 10th anniversary this year
A staple in the classic motorcycle scene.

Those of you who are classic and retro bike enthusiasts are probably well acquainted with one of the world’s biggest annual motorcycle events, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR). For those of you who aren’t familiar with this ride for a cause, DGR was founded by Mark Hawwa, and in its decade-long existence, has raised more than $30 million for a variety of men’s health concerns such as prostate cancer research and other mental health initiatives.
2021 marks DGR’s tenth anniversary, and has been scheduled on May 23, all across the globe. The event is set to take place all over the world, with DGR in specific countries having their own local organizing crew. Of course, we can’t forget about the current situation plaguing the entire world, as such, just like last year’s DGR, this year’s event will be more dispersed, and we won’t see the large crowding of motorcycles, as we have become accustomed to.
To add an interesting and exciting spin on this year’s DGR, Triumph Motorcycles will be giving away three brand new bikes to the top three highest global fundraisers. A special edition Triumph Thruxton RS will also be up for grabs in the Gentlefolk competition.
“We at Triumph are proud to be the main partner for the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride for the 8th consecutive year and are also delighted to be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the initiative overall,”
In order to make it in the running for winning the Thruxton RS, participants must join the Gentlefolk competition which constitutes collecting fundraising badges and raising more than $250, or around P12,500. As far as the local scene is concerned, if everything pans out smoothly, and the ongoing ECQ is lifted by the time May rolls around, then chances are that we will also see our own local, albeit socially distant version of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.
