The 100,000th unit that went off the line was a BMW G 310 GS.

TVS has been a long-time partner of BMW. Since 2013,  the Indian brand has been tasked with developing and producing small-displacement motorcycles for the German brand.

The partnership netted a total of two products using the 310cc platform of TVS. Based on the Apache RR 310, the G lineup of bikes from BMW includes the G 310 R and the G 310 GS. All of which sports a single-cylinder 313cc engine that brings BMW-approved quality and engineering to a wider customer base that wants that badge on their fairings.

TVS-built BMW bikes are manufactured in India at the Indian brand’s Hosur factory. The company is celebrating its 100,000th unit roll-out which is a great milestone for the 8-year long partnership between the two companies. The milestone of a unit was actually a G 310 GS adventure bike, finished in the new liveries for the 2022 year model.

BMW and TVS 100,000th unit roll out

TVS contributes about 10 percent of all of BMW Motorrad’s production volumes, and the bike is sold in 120 countries around the world. Also available in the Philippines under RSA Motors, you can get a BMW G 310 R for yourself for just P260,000, making it the most affordable motorcycle in the BMW lineup.

The G 310 lineup of BMW bikes may not have the most power under the tank, but it’s a well-engineered motorcycle with much thought put into the balance of the bike as well as the tilted cylinder head, which is a bit of an oddity given the traditional layout of inline and single-cylinder engines.

“Our strong synergies with TVS Motor Company have led to the development of impressive offerings in the Sub-500cc segment. Since their launch, both BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS single-cylinder models continue to enjoy unrivaled popularity. With the rollout of the 100,000th unit of BMW Motorrad’s 310cc series, these two agile all-rounders are an integral part of BMW Motorrad’s success story. We look forward to the future of our cooperation with TVS Motor Company.”
