Keeway enters mid-displacement segment with the new MBP C650V power cruiser
The QJ Motor-owned Chinese manufacturer is climbing the displacement ladder with its newest cruiser.
You may be familiar with Keeway, a major Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, which is the parent company of the new motorbike brand MBP. MBP is approaching the premium category for Keeway in a manner similar to how Voge approaches it for Loncin. However, given that Keeway is a subsidiary of the Qianjiang group, which also owns Benelli and QJ Motor, we can expect MBP to expand rather quickly.
One of the most aggressive and rapidly expanding Chinese businesses, QJ Motor is quickly establishing itself as a major player on the international stage. With that, the MBP brand unveiled a number of new models, including a middleweight cruiser that will go on sale in 2023. When the C650V, a mid-sized cruiser with a 650cc V-twin engine, enters the market, it will probably compete with models like the Honda Rebel 500 and Kawasaki Vulcan S. Let's take a closer look at how the MBP has equipped the C650V with high-quality parts and loads of technology, similar to its previous models.
The C650V adopts the muscular air intakes that enlarge the tank's sidewalls and rectangular headlamp that distinguish power cruisers like the Harley-Davidson Sportster S. The bike has a premium appearance thanks to features like full-LED lighting, a five-inch, smartphone-connected instrument cluster, turn signals integrated into the mirrors, a passenger backrest, and a twin exhaust system. A second LCD display located on the tank can be utilized to access features like GPS navigation.
The Chinese cruiser's heart is a 90-degree V-twin engine, akin to those seen in vintage American cruisers. With a 647cc displacement, this liquid-cooled, single overhead camshaft engine produces 69.3 hp and 45 lb-ft of torque. The top speed is 176 kilometers per hour with this. The back wheel receives power using a belt-drive system.
In terms of the bike's structure, the C650V uses components from reliable suppliers. For example, KYB suspension components tout the capability of adjusting preload at both ends. The MBP C650V sports Bosch ABS and front and rear Nissin disc brakes . It will be available for purchase in the first half of 2023 and will come in a range of colors. The official cost of the middleweight cruiser hasn't been made public by MBP, despite that.
