Ducati launches all-new Hypermotard V2 with cutting-edge tech
The Hypermotard V2 keeps its aggressive stance and signature beak while bringing sharper design and modern electronics.
Ducati has made its presence felt once again at this year’s EICMA, unveiling the all-new Hypermotard V2. It’s a full-circle moment for the Italian brand, as it was exactly 20 years ago, at EICMA 2005, that Ducati first introduced the original Hypermotard 1100 prototype—a bike that went on to win “Best in Show” and redefine what a road-going supermoto could be.
Two decades later, Ducati is evolving that same formula with a modern interpretation of its wildest machine. The Hypermotard V2 carries the unmistakable silhouette that has defined the lineup since day one: tall stance, wide handlebars, narrow waist, and that iconic beak-style front fender. It still looks unapologetically aggressive, but the details have been sharpened. The headlights are now sleeker and more modern, while the minimal bodywork has been refined for better aerodynamics and cooling.
Underneath the familiar skin sits an updated trellis frame, proudly exposed as always, showing off Ducati’s signature engineering style. The rear retains the floating taillight design that gives the bike a race-ready edge, while the entire form looks tighter and more purposeful than before. The standard version comes finished in Ducati Red, while the higher-end SP trim wears an exclusive race-inspired livery and upgraded hardware aimed squarely at track riders.
While Ducati hasn’t officially revealed full technical specs yet, early hints suggest a lightweight, compact twin-cylinder engine delivering the same kind of explosive performance the Hypermotard name is known for. Expect plenty of punch in the low and midrange, making it perfect for sliding through corners, popping wheelies, or carving up twisty mountain roads.
The V2 also benefits from Ducati’s latest electronic suite, likely including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and multiple riding modes—essential for taming a bike with this much personality. The SP variant, meanwhile, is expected to feature Öhlins suspension, Marchesini forged wheels, and premium braking components, reinforcing its status as the most capable Hypermotard yet.
In typical Ducati fashion, the Hypermotard V2 isn’t about chasing outright speed but about celebrating control, attitude, and fun. It’s a continuation of a two-decade legacy built around pure riding joy—where every throttle blip and rear-wheel slide feels like a rebellion on two wheels. The Hypermotard V2 will hit showrooms in 2026, with pricing expected to start around €15,000 (about P925,000).
