Suzuki V-Strom 1000 Overview

One look at the purposed, poised form of the Suzuki V-Strom range, you know that the Japanese brand made true adventure touring bikes. First in this range is the 1000 ABS available at P699,000. The 1000XT variant, on the other hand, costs P759,000. The two variants sport different styling cues but unique to the 1000XT is a traction control system.

Ready for adventure, a windscreen can be adjusted, which aims to reduce wind noise and to protect the rider from some elements. Behind this windscreen is an instrument panel that has an analog tachometer and LCD speedometer. Additional riding information includes a trip meter, gear position, coolant temperature, average fuel consumption, and clock. At the back, there is a lightweight luggage carrier that incorporates an easy-to-grab handlebar.

The V-Strom motorcycles pack a 996cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine that produces 99 hp and 101 Nm of torque. The mill is then connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is also equipped with a Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) system that uses a butterfly valve in the exhaust to optimize the exhaust pressure for boosting torque at low revs and to enhance throttle response.

Both variants are fitted with disc brakes and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The 1000XT’s mentioned traction control prevents wheel spin and excessive throttle control, and assists riders in various road conditions for long-distance tours.
