Vinfast Motorcycles
VinFast has quickly emerged as one of the boldest new names reshaping the motorcycle industry, particularly within the growing electric mobility space. The Vietnamese brand is part of Vingroup, one of Vietnam's largest private conglomerates, which built its foundation not in vehicles but in instant noodles. Founder Pham Nhat Vuong's entrepreneurial journey began with a Vietnamese restaurant in Ukraine before he created the Mivina instant noodles brand, using those profits to later establish Vingroup back home in Vietnam. That single venture would go on to fund one of Southeast Asia's most ambitious industrial expansions, culminating in the birth of VinFast.
VinFast Auto Ltd. was officially founded in June 2017, established as an automotive subsidiary of Vingroup, with operations centered in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The company initially produced gas-powered cars before fully switching to EVs a few years later, a shift that positioned VinFast as the first Vietnamese car brand to expand into global markets as well as the first to expand into producing electric vehicles, including electric motorcycles and scooters.
VinFast officially entered the Philippine market in 2024, introducing Filipino customers to its range of electric vehicles, electric motorcycles, and electric bikes built around modern, youthful designs and smart features. The brand spent the following two years building momentum, culminating in a major expansion in mid-2026. On July 31, 2026, VinFast opened 21 electric motorcycle showrooms across the Philippines, launching three models in the process, the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, marking a significant step in its push into one of Southeast Asia's largest two-wheeler markets. The Evo serves as the brand's entry-level model, built for practical daily commuting with a maximum range of up to 150 kilometers, while the Feliz II and Viper round out the lineup for riders seeking more features and performance.
Central to VinFast's approach in the Philippines is its battery-swapping ecosystem. Dealerships are designed as all-in-one destinations, bringing together product displays, energy solutions, and technical services under one roof, allowing customers to receive personalized consultations, take test rides, experience a one-minute battery swap, and explore home-charging solutions. Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, CEO of VinFast E-Scooters & E-Bikes for International Markets, has emphasized that the showroom rollout reflects the brand's long-term investment commitment to the Philippines, with the dealership network expected to continue expanding across the country in the coming period. Today, VinFast stands as one of the newest and most aggressive entrants into the Philippine motorcycle scene, betting on electric mobility to challenge the long-dominant gas-powered segment long led by Japanese brands.
