2024 KTM 690 Duke P640,000

KTM 690 Duke Overview

KTM’s first single-cylinder street bike quickly became a classic when the first iteration of the Duke was introduced in the ’90s, according to the manufacturer. Now the latest version which was introduced locally in 2017, the 690 Duke, is the closest rendition yet—and can be yours at a price of P640,000.

There are attractive features that come in a redesigned body, such as a TFT instrument panel that shows the rider a smorgasbord of information. Aside from the given speed, revs, and gear position, it also shows coolant temperature, fuel status, time, date, ambient temperature, and a shift light. The 690 Duke can also be optioned with a baggage carrier and a waterproof bag. Meanwhile, the bike is underpinned by a WP suspension that aims to give a compliant ride.

Propulsion is provided by a liquid-cooled 690cc ‘LC4’ engine that packs one cylinder and four-strokes. The power outputs, managed by a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, are 72 hp and 74 Nm of torque. This mill is said to sound good thanks to an exhaust that’s optimized to amplify the sound—and manage the emissions, too.

Helping with handling prowess are Brembo brakes equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
