KTM 1090 Adventure R Overview

Decades of rally victories of the Austrian brand is reflected on the 1090 Adventure that was introduced in 2017. KTM also says that it’s ready to take its rider further off the beaten track, too. This special motorcycle has a price tag of P665, 219 for the road-biased variant, and P1,030,000 for the R, which has off-road tires in its bigger wheels. Unique to the variants are their seat designs and frame graphics.

The bikes share a few goodies. Such as a windshield and an alloy handlebar that can be mounted in different positions to suit riders of various sizes. The same adjustability can be found in the seat and footpegs. The Adventure is fitted with a WP shock that can be adjusted for preload and rebound damping, and allows for 190mm of travel. In the R, similar type of shocks can be adjusted at both ends and have 220mm of travel. Among the options that can be ticked is luggage mounts on the sides of the bike.

Power is provided by a 1,050cc engine that ekes out 123hp and 109Nm of torque. It’s then mated to a six speed manual transmission.

Meanwhile, safety is provided by traction control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and a feature that automatically disengages the signal light should it be forgotten to be turned off.
