Kawasaki Z e-1 Overview

The Z e‑1 is Kawasaki’s first full-size electric streetfighter, powered by an air-cooled, interior permanent magnet synchronous motor rated at 6.7 hp at 2,800 rpm. Max torque is 40 Nm from zero to 1,600 rpm. It features two riding modes—Eco and Road—with an e‑Boost function providing a 15-second burst that raises the top speed from 85 km/h to 99 km/h in Road mode and from 62 km/h to 72 km/h in Eco mode.

Energy is stored in dual 30 Ah lithium-ion battery packs, which can be charged in roughly 3.7 hours each. Kawasaki rates the Z e‑1’s WMTC Class 1 urban range at approximately 72 km.

A steel trellis frame derived from the Ninja/Z400 underpins the Z e‑1. Suspension consists of a 41 mm telescopic fork with 120 mm travel, and a bottom-link Uni-Trak rear shock with 133 mm travel. Dimensions include a 1,980 mm length, 730 mm width , 1,035 mm footprint, a 1,370 mm wheelbase, 170 mm ground clearance, and an accessible seat height of 785 mm. Braking is provided by a single 290 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, both with dual-piston calipers and ABS. The bike rolls on 17-inch wheels with 100/80 front and 130/70 rear tyres.

Additional features include regenerative braking, clutchless twist-and-go operation, ERGO-FIT adjustments, walk mode (up to ~5 km/h, forward/reverse), and a full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. A small 5‑liter under-tank storage compartment replaces the traditional fuel tank.

Priced at P597,000 in the Philippines, the Z e‑1 offers an accessible electric option for urban riders, blending eco-friendly operation with lightweight agility and Kawasaki’s build quality.
