Kawasaki Versys 1100 SE Overview

The Kawasaki Versys 1100 SE enters the adventure-touring segment with a focus on performance, comfort, and long-distance capability. Powered by a 1,099 cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, it produces 133 hp at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 7,600 rpm. Paired with a six-speed gearbox and electronic throttle valves, the engine delivers smooth, responsive power delivery across a wide rev range.

A twin-tube aluminium frame supports electronically controlled suspension: a 43 mm Showa SFF-BP front fork and a Showa BFRC-lite rear shock, both semi-active via Kawasaki’s KECS system. With 150 mm of front travel and 152 mm at the rear, the setup adapts in real time for improved control and ride comfort. Braking is handled by dual 310 mm front discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers and a 260 mm rear disc, supported by cornering ABS.

The Versys 1100 SE features a wheelbase of 1,520 mm, seat height of 840 mm, ground clearance of 150 mm, and a wet weight of approximately 259 kg. It rolls on 17-inch wheels front and rear, fitted with 120/70 and 180/55 tyres respectively. A 21-litre fuel tank offers extended range for touring use.

Electronic features include multiple ride modes, traction control, cruise control, a quick shifter, cornering management, and a colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app. Practical equipment includes an adjustable windscreen, LED lighting, heated grips, hand guards, and a USB-C outlet.
