Kawasaki KLX230 Overview

The KLX230 SE is a nimble dual‑sport motorcycle featuring a 233 cc air‑cooled, SOHC single‑cylinder engine with fuel injection, delivering 17 hp at 8,000 rpm and 18.0 Nm of torque at 6,400 rpm. Power is sent through a six‑speed return gearbox and wet multi‑plate clutch, driving the rear wheel via chain with a final reduction ratio of around 2.87.

The chassis is a high‑tensile steel perimeter frame with a 37 mm telescopic fork offering 240 mm of front travel and a Uni‑Trak rear suspension providing 250 mm of travel. Braking is handled by a 265 mm front petal disc with dual‑piston caliper and a 220 mm rear petal disc with single‑piston caliper. The SE edition adds inverted forks, handguards, skid plate, fat handlebars, rim protectors, and frame covers as standard.

The bike measures 2,110 mm long,  935 mm wide, 1,185 mm tall, with a 1,380 mm wheelbase, 260 mm ground clearance, 875 mm seat height, and a curb mass of approximately 135 kg. It carries a 7.5-liter fuel tank.

Safety and convenience features include dual-purpose ABS with an off‑road switch, Kawasaki’s ERGO‑FIT ergonomic adjustability, smartphone connectivity, LCD instrumentation, LED headlight, and the ability to disable ABS for off-road riding.
