Yamaha Motors Philippines launches the much-awaited XSR155
Yamaha’s newest Neo-Retro bike is finally here.
The Yamaha XSR155 has been one of those motorcycles that a lot of people were uncertain if it would be arriving in our country and yet highly anticipated its arrival. It was launched in Thailand sometime last year around August 2019, and since then, people have been waiting for it to finally land in our shores. The wait is over, Yamaha Motors Philippines have invited a few media members and friends for the official launch of the all-new XSR155.
Yamaha’s XSR lineup is no longer a stranger to our country with the XSR700 and XSR900 already having gained quite a following as a modern-classic machine that successfully combines the tech and performance from the tried and tested MT platform with its timeless design. True to its XSR siblings, the XSR155 follows the same platform of the Yamaha’s MT lineup with the same chassis and powerplant as the MT-15.
The new XSR155 is powered by a 155 cc 4-stroke single-cylinder engine capable of churning out 19 hp and 14.7 Nm of torque that’s mounted on the bike’s Deltabox frame. It mated to a six-speed transmission box with Assist and Slipper clutch that mitigates the effects of engine braking and deceleration during sudden downshifts. Its Full LCD digital speedometer is designed as a single round unit for that clean retro-styled easy-to-read panel that gives you all the information you need including a gear indicator, oil temperature warning, and fuel gauge.
True to Yamaha’s Faster Sons design philosophy, the XSR155, just like its bigger siblings, is an extremely customizable machine, with bolt-on parts and accessories making it easy to strip down and make your own true expression of yourself with a rideable machine that’s perfect for the Philippines. It is now available in the Yamaha Flagship Shop, the YZONE, and Yamaha Rev Zones nationwide with a selling price of P162,000. Its color options come in either Garage Metal or Tech Black.
