Would you like to see the Yamaha Ray Z125 in the Philippines?
This petite scooter would make for the perfect runabout in Metro Manila traffic.

For the 2023 model year, Yamaha's 125cc scooter, the Ray ZR 125, has been revised in India. Yamaha equipped the scooter with an OBD-II sensor and upgraded it to run on E-20 gasoline. More color options for the Street Rally model have been offered in terms of aesthetics while keeping the bodywork unaltered.

The Ray ZR 125 Street Rally Fi Hybrid trim will now come in Matte Black and Light Gray Vermillion color choices. The previous Matte Copper paint finish has also been retained for the 2023 model year. Nonetheless, Metallic Black, Cyan Blue, and Matte Red are still available for the standard Ray ZR 125. They feature a brand-new set of decals to give them a new appearance.
The Ray ZR 125's main feature is primarily Bluetooth compatibility. The digital dashboard of the scooter links to the Y-Connect smartphone application, which offers access to the riding community, details on fuel use, maintenance suggestions, the location of your most recent parking spot, and problem notifications. A side stand engine cut-off, automated start-stop functionality, and a combined brake system are additional features.

The scooter is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 125cc engine with fuel injection technology that can produce a maximum of 8 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum of 10 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. It rides on a pair of 12 and 10-inch alloy wheels at the front and back, respectively, and is supported by conventional telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the back. The scooter comes equipped with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.
Pricing and availability-wise, the Ray ZR 125 retains its attractive entry-level pricing. The base model starts at Rs 82,730, which translates to approximately P55,000, while the range-topping model with hybrid technology will fetch Rs 93,530, or around P62,600. If Yamaha Philippines were to launch this model in the Philippines, it’ll certainly make for an enticing option in the entry-level market. Furthermore, the scooter’s diminutive size and compact proportions will certainly make for quite the efficient commuter.
