Voge enters middleweight ADV segment with the new 900 DS
The Chinese manufacturer flaunted its newest ADV at EICMA 2022.
We learned that Chinese motorcycle maker Voge would be releasing a new mid-sized adventure bike named the 900 DS earlier in October 2022. The moment has finally come for this bike, which was intended to stand in for the finest of what the Loncin-owned company has to offer, to be shown at EICMA 2022.
In reality, several of the 900 DS' rumored characteristics—chief among them, the degree to which it resembles the BMW F 850 GS—have been verified. For those of you who are unaware, BMW sources its 850 and 900 models' engines from the Chinese company Loncin. Therefore, it is not at all strange that Loncin chose to create its own version of BMW's mid-sized ADV under its in-house, premium marque Voge.
To get right to it, the Voge 900 DS shares an 895cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine with the BMW F 900 R. This engine produces 96.5 horsepower and 64 ft-lbs of torque. A six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quick-shifter as standard, as well as an integrated slipper clutch to soften sloppy downshifts, transfers power to the rear wheel. A host of innovative electronics that are all managed by a throttle-by-wire system are coupled to this powerful powerplant, giving the rider access to a number of riding modes.
A large full-color TFT display that closely resembles BMW's interfaces shows all relevant riding information. In addition, the dashboard has a 12V power outlet and a USB port, as well as a full LED lighting system with fog lights. Cruise control, heated saddle and grips, and a full set of aluminum luggage with side panniers and a top case are additional features.
The Voge 900 DS has several high-end components, placing it firmly in the middleweight ADV category. First off, there are completely adjustable forks with a centrally positioned monoshock that is also adjustable. Dual-channel ABS is included in the brakes, which feature Brembo hardware. The 900 DS has outstanding ground clearance of 825 millimeters and rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels, as is typical of most trail-focused enduro ADVs. The bike weighs 220 kilograms dry due to its perimeter steel frame.
