Vespa updates the Primavera and Sprint S ahead of its 80th anniversary
New brakes, wheels, electronics, and a special Verde Pastello series lead the brand into 2026.
Vespa’s 2026 lineup grows around the updated Primavera and Sprint S, both of which arrive with functional tweaks, fresh styling, and the same focus on everyday charm that keeps the brand relevant after almost eight decades. The biggest hardware upgrade is a 220mm rear steel disc paired with a twin-piston caliper, replacing the long-running drum setup. It’s a small change on paper, but a noticeable one for riders who want more consistent rear brake feel in the city.
Both models still come in 50, 125, and 150cc versions, and they now roll on new 12in wheels. The Sprint S gets a few exclusive elements, including a five-slat side grille, while the Primavera receives a more refined front mudguard crest. The retractable bag hook under the handlebar carries over across all variants, staying one of the most useful pieces of Vespa design for daily riders.
A new keyless system becomes standard on all 50cc and up models. The scooters also get a completely redesigned LCD dashboard, which brings a cleaner, more modern interface. Electric versions of the Primavera and Sprint S remain available too, both equipped with removable batteries for easier home charging.
Vespa also updated its Argentario open-face helmet range with new colors that match the 2026 scooter palette. Blue, cinnabar green, and glossy beige give owners the option to coordinate their entire setup if that’s their style.
The company will hit its 80th year in 2026, and celebrations are scheduled in Rome from 25 to 28 June. To mark the milestone, Vespa announced an 80th Special Series that applies a new Verde Pastello finish to the Primavera and GTS. The pastel green livery covers the full bodywork and even extends to the wheels, making it one of the more unified visual packages Vespa has done for an anniversary release.
