Triumph’s TF 450-X is the ultimate motocross machine
A lightweight 450 with big power and pro-level features
The new Triumph TF 450-X is the brand’s latest push into the competitive 450 motocross class, and it’s built with serious riders in mind. At its core is a 449.5cc single-cylinder engine delivering 61.5hp at 9,500rpm and 49.9Nm at 7,000rpm. With a weight of just 108.3kg, that gives it one of the strongest power-to-weight ratios in the segment. Key components like a forged König piston, titanium valves, and DLC-coated cams highlight Triumph’s focus on durability and race-ready performance.
For 2026, Triumph introduced some subtle but important refinements. The new Exedy clutch hub with a Belleville spring improves consistency under heavy use, while revised engine mounts and an updated gearbox selector star sharpen the bike’s feel and shift precision. These changes may not look flashy, but they count when you’re riding hard.
The aluminum spine-and-cradle frame pairs with a hydroformed swingarm and KYB suspension—48mm AOS forks up front and a fully adjustable rear shock with over 300mm of travel on both ends. Brembo brakes with Galfer discs handle stopping power, while D.I.D wheels wrapped in Pirelli MX32 tires give it race-day grip straight out of the crate.
What really sets the TF 450-X apart is its electronics package. Riders get traction control, launch control, dual engine maps, and even a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts from second to fifth gear. Pair it with the optional MX Tune Pro app, and you unlock up to ten additional maps and fully customizable engine settings—tech that was once reserved for factory teams.
On top of all that, Triumph includes premium hardware like ProTaper bars, Brembo brakes, and KYB suspension as standard. Whether you’re a weekend trail rider or chasing podium finishes, the TF 450-X offers pro-level kit without forcing you to upgrade parts right away.
Pricing hasn’t been finalized yet, but with the TF 450-RC special edition sitting around $11,995 (roughly P696,000), expect the TF 450-X to be in the same range. That’s competitive against Japanese rivals while bringing in features they don’t always include as standard.
The TF 450-X proves Triumph is serious about motocross. It’s not just dipping its toes—it’s going all in, giving riders a machine that blends race engineering with modern rider-focused tech.
