Triumph Philippines announces 2023 Street Triple RS starting at P840,000
The latest iteration of the iconic naked bike flaunts a slew of performance-oriented enhancements.
As a result of its finesse and all-around performance, the Street Triple has long been a favorite among enthusiasts. The crew at Hinckley are well aware that the platform is one of the most renowned in the lineup for the British brand. Hence, it should come as no surprise that the Street Triple's improvements for the 2023 model year are, to put it mildly, exceptional.
Triumph said that they concentrated more on the Street Triple's responsiveness and acceleration throughout all of the variations. Triumph improved the R and RS variations' ergonomics by adding a handlebar that is 12 mm wider than earlier models. Only the R and RS are equipped with this improvement because the Moto2 model has clip-on bars. Moreover, Triumph has added Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) to its portfolio, enabling sophisticated rider aids like cornering ABS and traction control. With the R, RS, and Moto2, there is a specific track mode in addition to the Road, Rain, Sport, and one rider-configurable modes.
As for performance, the bike gets a refined 765cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline three-cylinder engine. In the R version, it pumps out a respectable 118 horsepower. The power increase for the RS model, meanwhile, is impressive, going from 118 horsepower to 128 horsepower at 12,000 RPM. It still has the same slipper clutch and quick shifter six-speed transmission, but now it has better tires, Brembo Stylema 310mm front disc brakes, a TFT display, the same Showa SFF-BP 41mm completely adjustable fork, and an Ohlins STX40 piggyback reservoir fully adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
Here in the Philippines, Triumph has already officially announced the launch of the Street Triple RS, however, it’s currently offered in only one, Silver Ice colorway. Triumph does say to stay tuned for updates, as chances are the other variants of the naked streetfighter will also make their way to the local market soon. As for the RS variant, it’s offered in a sleek Silver Ice color scheme, and retails for P840,000. We sure hope that the highly acclaimed Moto2 Edition will be launched here, as well.
