They’re ready to go up against the likes of the Kawasaki Z650RS and Yamaha XSR700.

Suzuki may have been a bit late to the modern middleweight game, but it's making up for lost time in a big way. Following the launch of the GSX-8S and GSX-8R, the Japanese brand has now revealed two new additions to the 800 platform: the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. Unlike their sportier siblings, these bikes go for a more timeless look, blending retro styling with everyday practicality.

Both bikes are powered by Suzuki’s 776cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank, producing 81hp and 77Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox with an assist/slipper clutch and a standard up/down quickshifter delivers power smoothly, while modern features like ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, ride modes, and a 5-inch TFT display ensure they’re anything but old-school under the skin.

What sets the 8T and 8TT apart is their styling. The GSX-8T features a round LED headlight, bar-end mirrors, tuck-and-roll seat, and a 16.3L tank with knee indents—classic looks with modern execution. The 8TT adds a handlebar-mounted fairing inspired by the iconic Wes Cooley Replica GS1000S, giving it a bolder, more distinctive appearance. Suzuki will also offer a mini cowl accessory for those who want a cleaner look with a bit of wind protection.

Underneath, both bikes share most components with the GSX-8S and 8R, including KYB suspension, cast wheels, and dual 310mm front discs with ABS. With retro bikes like the Yamaha XSR900, Honda CB650R, and Kawasaki Z900RS consistently drawing attention, the GSX-8T and TT are well-positioned to capture the same kind of appeal—especially for riders who want modern performance without the futuristic aesthetics.

Pricing hasn't been confirmed, but expect the 8T and 8TT to sit somewhere between the GSX-8S and GSX-8R, which retail in the Philippines for P631,000 and P699,000 respectively. No word yet on local availability, but with the rest of the GSX-8 lineup already here, there’s good reason to believe they’re headed our way soon.
