Suzuki launches four new motorcycles to their lineup in the Philippines
We get two new Gixxers and two new scooters for the Philippine market.
The weekend has proven to be quite eventful for motorcycle launches. After teasing its followers for the past weeks, Suzuki finally unveils a slew of new motorcycles to the Philippine market. With a virtual launch made over its social media pages, Suzuki proudly unveiled the new Gixxer 250, Gixxer 250SF, the Burgman Street maxiscooter, and the new Skydrive Crossover.
Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250SF
The Gixxer 250 and its fully-faired variant, the Gixxer 250SF finally makes its way to the Philippines. Initially designed for the Indian domestic market, the two new bikes are now destined for the global market and we’re lucky now have them here. Both bikes share the same platform with only its headlight and fairings distinguishing them from each other.
They are powered by an air and oil-cooled 249 cc single-cylinder Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine capable of producing 26 hp at 9,000 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 RPM. It utilizes Suzuki’s Oil Cooling System (SOCS) using an oil cooler fan and oil-cooling radiator for improved oil flow and improved efficiency. It gives a very generous 38.5 km/L fuel consumption reading with excellent power delivery and cleaner emissions. It also features a newly designed high-rigidity frame, a 7-step adjustable rear suspension, and a dual-channel ABS system. A fully-digital instrument panel integrates its speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, and dual-trip meters giving the rider all the essential readouts.
The Gixxer comes in Metallic Matte Black and is priced at P165,000 while the fully-faired Gixxer 250SF comes in a special edition Triton Blue and Silver Suzuki Team Ecstar livery and is priced at P175,000.
Burgman Street
Meanwhile, Suzuki is also joining the fray of affordable smaller-displacement maxi-scooters in the country by adding the new Burgman Street to its lineup. It’s the newest and smallest member of the Burgman maxiscooter lineup designed for comfort and practicality.
The Burgman Street is powered by an all-aluminum 4-stroke, fuel-injected single-cylinder 125 cc engine. It features Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology which brings powerful yet fuel-efficient engine performance with an impressive 53.5 km/L consumption reading. It is capable of churning out 8.6 hp at 6,750 RPM and 10 Nm of torque at 5,500 RPM. The Burgman Street incorporates a combined brake system which controls both front and rear brakes with just one lever for more control and better performance.
Other features include a fully-digital instrument panel, a 2-liter glovebox with a lid on the left side, an open compartment for the right side with a standard DC power outlet, a front shield, and an integrated engine start and kill switch. The Burgman Street is available in Metallic Matte Fibroin Gray and Glass Sparkle Black and is priced at P76,900.
Skydrive Crossover
The last bike to be included in Suzuki’s motorcycle lineup is the new Skydrive Crossover. With the Skydrive being among Suzuki’s most popular scooter models, they now add a smaller offering with dual-sport capability allowing you to take it to less-than-ideal back roads providing an automatic alternative to the Raider J Crossover. Equipped with rugged wheels, semi-knobby tires, and a high ground clearance of 150 mm, tackling paved and unpaved roads wouldn’t be a challenge for the Skydrive Crossover.
It is powered by a 113 cc engine with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) that churns out 9 hp at 8,000 RPM and 8.5 Nm of torque at 6,000RPM. Designed to give an aggressive, sporty, and adventurous impression, the Skydrive Crossover is available in four color options namely: Daytona Yellow, Pearl Ash Blue, Strong Red, and Solid Black, and is priced at P69,900.
The new Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer 250SF, Burgman Street, and Skydrive Crossover will be available in its nationwide network of dealerships in November.
