The new Yamaha FZ 25 will be available soon and we want it in the Philippines

Yamaha’s new FZ 25 would look really good in Philippine showrooms.

After Yamaha officially launched the new FZ 25, getting it into showrooms in India was delayed. This was also due to the delays associated with getting the motorcycle compliant to its newly established BS6 emission standards. Yamaha is now accepting orders for the new FZ 25 and FZS 25 which was supposed to hit showrooms last March with no definite news of a Philippine launch just yet – though we remain hopeful.

The new FZ 25 didn’t hit the showrooms on time partly also because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Yamaha is now accepting orders outside the country and it’s expected to be priced somewhere around $1,800 or somewhere around P100,000 if we factor in customs duties and taxes. Its known rivals would include the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and the Honda CBR 250. The new FZ 25 and FZS 25 is expected to be available later this year – fingers crossed for the Philippines.

The KTM 200 Duke has already seen a lot of success in the country with this powertrain. We believe that the consumers could use a little more variety in the 200 cc to 300 cc powertrain. Perhaps there is some hope since Yamaha has a sub 400 cc motorcycle in the form of the R3
