The new Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT finally land in the Philippines
The new neo-retro naked bikes command quite a steep premium at P699K and P729K, respectively.
Suzuki has spent decades shaping everyday motorcycling. From GS and GSX icons to the SV650, the brand built a reputation for friendly engines, clean ergonomics, and parts you can trust. That history matters here because Suzuki just moved fast on a pair of new retro twins, landing them in the Philippines within weeks of their global reveal. Quick decisions like this tell you Suzuki still knows how to read a market.
Meet the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. They look different, yet they share the same bones. Both use a 776cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin with a 270° crank, matched to a 6-speed manual. The character is the point. Suzuki tuned the engine to echo the pulse and easy torque delivery riders loved in the old SV650, only now with modern fueling and electronics.
Styling splits the personalities. The GSX-8T is the cleaner, more traditional naked inspired by the T500 Titan, which is why the “T” stands for Titan. The GSX-8TT leans into late-’70s race flavor, with a compact headlight cowl and stripes that nod to the GS1000 AMA machines. Same chassis idea, different moods.
Both bikes carry Suzuki Intelligent Ride System. You get a drive-mode selector, three-level traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, ride-by-wire throttle for precise response, and Low RPM Assist to smooth pull-aways in traffic. A 127mm TFT display handles the dash, and a 16.5L tank sets you up for longer stints between fuel stops.
Practical touches keep the retro look from feeling old. The riding position is neutral, the electronics are transparent, and maintenance should be straightforward thanks to wide Suzuki dealer coverage. Colorways are simple and sharp: the GSX-8T in Metallic Matte Steel Green or Metallic Matte Black, and the GSX-8TT in Glass Sparkle Black or Pearl Matte Shadow Green.
Prices land at P699,000 for the GSX-8T and P729,000 for the GSX-8TT. That puts them right where many riders shop for a step-up middleweight, without wandering into superbike money.
Why it matters for you and me: choice. If you want a clean naked with subtle heritage cues, the GSX-8T makes sense. If you want a little race-era swagger with the same hardware, the GSX-8TT scratches that itch. Either way you get modern electronics, approachable manners, and a motor built to be used every day.
