New Benelli Tornado Naked Twin 500 is a sharp and sporty street machine
The new naked streetfighter was showcased in all its glory at EICMA 2023.

EICMA 2023 boasted a slew of fresh bike debuts, and among them stood out Benelli's Tornado Naked Twin 500, a real head-turner. Admittedly, chuckles might follow that name, a common trait with bike monikers from Chinese manufacturers. Nevertheless, beneath its odd name and outlandish styling, this bike is packing some serious underpinnings.

The new Benelli Tornado Naked Twin showcases sharp, stylish aesthetics that seamlessly blend elements from Benelli's modern lineup. Its design features a sleek, aggressive supermoto vibe, highlighted by a compact LED headlight and a pointed body flowing gracefully from the radiator shrouds to the bike's tail. Underneath, it shares its foundation with the Leoncino 500, a retro-style naked bike, ensuring a tried-and-tested base.
Powering this machine is a 500cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine boasting impressive torque at low to mid revs—46 Nm at 6,000 rpm and 47.6 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. Updated to meet Euro 5+ standards, the engine received tweaks and a new exhaust system. The power reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch for smooth transitions.

Adding to its allure, Benelli incorporated additional tech in the Tornado Naked Twin. The bike flaunts a sizable five-inch full-color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, along with integrated turn signals on the handguards for a more streamlined appearance. Enhanced visibility comes from the distinctive T-shaped DRL in the LED headlight and the integrated taillight setup.Expected to hit Benelli dealers worldwide in the first half of 2024, official pricing remains undisclosed at the time of writing.
