MT Helmets launches new range of full-face helmets in the Philippines
The KRE+ and the Thunder offer impressive value for money without compromising on safety and style.
These days, there are several helmet manufacturers that offer good value for money without compromising on safety and style. One such brand is MT Helmets, despite being sold in the Philippines alongside Spyder helmets for quite some time now, the brand is bolstering its presence by launching two new models in the local market called the KRE+ and Thunder 4 SV.
MT Helmets finds its roots all the way back in 1968. Manufacturas Tomás, S.A., also known as MT Helmets, was founded in La Palma in Cartagena, Spain. Over the years, the brand grew in popularity across Europe, conforming to the safety standards of the time, which started in 1992 with the ECE-22.04 standard. This was also the year that motorcycle helmets were mandated in most parts of the world. Fast forward two decades, and MT Helmets continues protecting the noggins of motorcycles across the world. In the Philippine market in particular, MT Helmets caters to sportbike and sport-touring aficionados with two new models.
The first of which is the KRE+. Starting at a retail price of P19,500, the KRE+ boasts a lightweight constriction. It’s made out of brushed carbon fiber, and is a full-fledged race helmet complying with the latest safety standards ensuring rider safety both on and off the track. It comes in striking colorways with a portion of the helmet displaying a carbon pattern. Of course, as with all premium helmets, the KRE+ comes with a removable and washable liner, and a hypoallergenic interior. A double D-ring clasp allows you to perfectly adjust the helmet’s fit. Last but not least, the KRE+ features a spoiler, for that added race-inspired look.
Up next, tourers and commuters will benefit from MT Helmets’ new Thunder. Designed with comfort and safety in mind, the Thunder 4 SV gets a drop-down sun visor allowing you to ride all day without the need to carry multiple visors to swap out. Unlike the KRE+, the Thunder uses a quick-release micrometric buckle for easy wearing and removal. It’s also equipped with a removable and washable liner, plus an anti-scratch coating on the main visor. It complies with the ECE-22.04 safety standard.
