Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi is considered by many as a boutique brand in the world of motorcycling. Many newbie riders may have never even heard of this brand. However, those who know, know that this manufacturer means business when it comes to premium, head-turning machines. 2021 was an important year for the Italian company, as it celebrated its centennial anniversary. To spice things up and to commemorate this momentous occassion, the company has immortalized its centennial by launching a new motorcycle.
The aptly named Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello celebrates the company's hundred year long existence, with the V100 moniker nodding to its year of inception; the same year as its centennial anniversay, and Mandello nodding to the company's home town of Mandello Del Lario in Italy. The company has uploaded a teaser which depicts the motorcycle in all its glory on its official YouTube channel. Watch the video for yourselves below.
Unfortunately for us eager motorcycle enthusiasts, Moto Guzzi has not revealed the bike's official specifications. However, eagle-eyed viewers may be able to learn a thing or two from Moto Guzzi's teaser video, such as this bike's thoroughly impressive active aerodynamics which sees the windshield and two side flaps adjust automatically according to the bike's speed.
As far as the engine is concerned, it's likely that Moto Guzzi has made use of a totally new powerplant for this bike. As the name suggests, this engine will likely be a 1,000-ish cc motor, and will certainly adopt the same transverse V-twin configuration as that of the V85 TT and all the other bikes in Moto Guzzi's model range. Given the fact that this bike is a sport-tourer, chances are it'll prioritize comfort and linear performance, so expect around 115 horsepower on tap from this new motor. Moto Guzzi will undoubtedly have this bike on display in this year's EICMA, which is scheduled for November. We'll be sure to bring you more info on this bike once we get it.
