The limited-run Kawasaki Z900RS SE launches in Europe
Its paint matches its Öhlins suspension.
The Kawasaki Z900RS is a definite head-turner with its retro styling and its intoxicating exhaust note. The model just got an update in Europe with a black and yellow-themed colorway which appeared to be inspired by the “Yellow Ball” Kawasaki Z1 from 1972.
At least for Kawasaki fans in Europe, they now get access to an OEM retro-inspired paint job with the launch of the 2022 Kawasaki Z900 RS SE. The Japanese company has been churning out a few colorways as of late, but this is perhaps the most eyecatching.
It’s not just a flash in the pan with all that yellow paint, however. If you look closely, you will find that the bike is actually equipped with a few performance bits that you won’t find on the standard model.
Also jacketed in yellow, the Öhlins S46 rear shock appears to blend in with the rest of the bike. The S46 model comes with remote preload adjustment, which should save you quite a bit of time when you’re adjusting for a rear passenger. The front, on the other hand, features a fully adjustable 41mm gold inverted front fork—it looks absolutely stunning, of course.
Stopping power is provided by a pair of Brembo M4.32 radial monobloc calipers and the brake rotors come in at 300mm in diameter. Meanwhile, on the clutch side of the bars, the bike comes with a 6-speed transmission with an assisted slipper clutch. This is matched with Kawasaki’s Dual-Overhead Cam (DOHC) inline-four-cylinder motor that produces a total of 109.9 hp and 98.5 Nm of torque.
As for the safety features on this motorcycle, you get ABS as standard as well as Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC). Let’s face it, with all that power between your legs, some extra peace of mind is welcome, right? Though, more advanced riders can vary the traction control’s level of intervention, or switch it off entirely.
The SE trim wil be available in Europe for a limited time. No word yet on whether Kawasaki Philippines will bring this spec Z900 RS SE in, though we hope it’ll be some time soon.
