Kawasaki Z1100 SE revealed with more power, more tech, and sharper styling
Now the largest Z bike ever, the 2026 Z1100 SE brings modern rider aids, a new aluminum frame, and 134hp of refined performance.
Kawasaki has officially unveiled the 2026 Z1100 SE ABS, a new flagship model that replaces the long-running Z1000 and redefines the brand’s supernaked lineup. The Z1000 has long been one of the most popular big bikes in the Philippines, known for its aggressive Sugomi design and raw inline-four performance. The new Z1100 builds on that legacy, bringing more power, advanced tech, and premium components into the mix.
At the heart of the Z1100 SE is a new 1,099cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, producing 134hp at 9,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 7,600rpm. The engine is based on the Ninja 1100SX SE’s powerplant but features unique pistons, cam profiles, and valve springs for a stronger midrange. It also gets a slipper and assist clutch, taller fifth and sixth gears for relaxed cruising, and a redesigned 4-2-1 exhaust system with an under-engine pre-chamber for improved mass centralization.
The Z1100 SE takes a big leap in electronics with a six-axis IMU powering systems like Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), Traction Control (KTRC), and Intelligent ABS (KIBS). Riders can also enjoy a two-way quickshifter, electronic cruise control, and four selectable ride modes—Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider—accessible through a new 5-inch TFT color display with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology app.
Underneath the aggressive styling is a completely new aluminum twin-tube frame, replacing the Z1000’s steel chassis. The new setup uses the engine as a stressed member, making the bike narrower and stiffer for improved handling. Ergonomics have also been refined with a wider handlebar, sportier footpegs, and smoother transitions between the tank, seat, and tail section.
Being the SE variant, the bike comes loaded with high-end suspension and braking components. Up front is a fully adjustable 41mm Showa SFF-BP fork, while the rear features an Öhlins S46 shock with a remote preload adjuster. Stopping power comes from Brembo M4.32 Monoblock calipers on dual 300mm front discs and a 250mm rear disc, all paired with steel-braided brake lines. Other highlights include a 1,440mm wheelbase, 815mm seat height, and 17L fuel capacity, with curb weight at 221kg.
Visually, the Z1100 SE evolves the familiar Sugomi look with sharper bodywork, a compact LED headlight, and premium gray finishes. It’s priced at $14,999 (around P870,000) in the U.S., with no official word yet on a Philippine launch—but given how beloved the Z1000 was locally, its arrival feels only a matter of time.
