Honda Philippines unleashes the 2022 CBR500R
Honda’s 500cc sportbike is more refined and modern than ever before.

Honda Philippines has finally brought over the all-new CBR500R to our shores. The 2022 model elevates the middleweight sportbike in terms of technology and features. The update comes as Honda continues to update some of the key models in its motorcycle lineup. Most recently, the company released the CB500X.

With the 2022 CBR500R, Honda set out to up the ante in more ways than one. The all-new sportbike now gets 41 mm gold-finished Showa inverted front forks with a separate function fork big piston. The new front suspension assures excellent control, no matter the riding condition. The lightweight, 5-spoke wheels also provide style and substance with weight reduction and a gorgeous finish.
Honda also furnished the CBR500R with an updated braking system. The front now features a 296mm dual-disc front brake with a radial-mount caliper for confident stopping ability. Dual-channel ABS comes standard, and an emergency stop signal (ESS) ensures safe stopping in traffic. There's also a slipper and assist clutch that Honda says reduces the lever-pulling effort by 45%.
Technology is a big part of this year's update. That's why Honda equipped the 2022 CBR50R with a negative-display LCD panel that provides necessary riding information, like the dual trip meters, fuel level, consumption gauges, gear position, and shift-up indicators. Honda also gave the new model an all-LED lighting setup for a decidedly modern feel.
At the heart of the all-new CBR500R is a 471cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC parallel-twin engine that delivers about 47 hp at 8,500 rpm. The torque figure is at 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm. It's all managed by a smooth 6-speed gearbox. For the fuel-conscious, Honda is happy to report that the CBR500R has an average consumption of 28.6 km/l, more than enough to get by on the highway.
The 2022 Honda CBR500R is now available nationwide, retailing at It retails for P364,000. Available color options include Grand Prix Red and the Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
