Ducati unveils 2025 Panigale and Streetfighter V2
The two middleweight machines are powered by Ducati's all-new V2 engine.
Ducati has wasted no time unveiling bikes with their all-new 890cc spring-head V2 engine, marking a new era for the brand's V-twin powerplants. This engine powers two models: the Panigale V2 and the Streetfighter V2, each with higher-spec S versions. The 890cc twin represents a clean-sheet design, departing from Ducati’s usual desmodromic valve system in favor of a conventional cam and valve spring setup. This change might be jarring for some die-hard Ducatisti, but it ensures smoother operation and potentially lower maintenance without compromising Ducati’s characteristic performance.
The Panigale V2 offers 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 68.8 lb-ft of torque at 8,250 rpm, with a lean 120-pound engine weight that challenges KTM’s Duke 990 R as one of the lightest in its class. Its double-sided swingarm design aids in stability, especially during intense corner exits. With a new aluminum monocoque chassis, the bike achieves an overall dry weight of 390 pounds, making it the lightest Panigale V2 yet. Styling-wise, it recalls the iconic Ducati 916, with a narrow, sleek profile and a more street-friendly riding position that balances performance with comfort.
The Panigale V2 comes equipped with an electronics suite that includes a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, quick shift, and engine brake control, among other features. It also has four riding modes—Race, Sport, Road, and Wet—each of which can be tailored via the 5-inch TFT display.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Streetfighter V2 shares most of the Panigale’s chassis elements but features a slightly altered geometry and an extended swingarm for a longer wheelbase, optimized for stability with an upright riding position. The 33.0-inch seat height and higher, wider handlebars make the Streetfighter ideal for city and casual rides. Compared to the previous model, the Streetfighter is 40 pounds lighter, and the few fairing panels cut 2-3 pounds from the Panigale’s base weight.
Both models offer premium features like Öhlins suspension on the S versions, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV radials, and Brembo M50 brakes for excellent handling and stopping power. Ducati’s full LED lighting setup and customizable interface make these models truly state-of-the-art.
With the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, Ducati introduces versatile bikes designed to please both performance-focused riders and everyday enthusiasts. We’re excited to see these new machines hit the roads in the Philippines!
