Ducati unveils 2024 DesertX Rally with even more off-road capability
Upgraded suspension and wheels elevate the DesertX’s all-terrain prowess.
Ducati's latest offering, the 2024 DesertX Rally, is geared toward off-road enthusiasts. This exciting release centers on significant improvements in suspension and wheels, which are essential components for tackling the challenges of enduro riding. Out of the box, the standard Ducati DesertX is already an impressive off-road capable machine. Let’s see what Ducati has done to make it even better.
Some of the standout suspension enhancements in the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally include a KYB closed-cartridge fork with impressive adjustability, providing riders with fine-tuned control over their off-road adventures. Complementing this, at the rear, you'll find a KYB shock absorber, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride over rugged terrain.
With a suspension travel of 250mm at the front and 240mm at the rear, coupled with a generous ground clearance of 280mm, the DesertX Rally is poised to conquer even the most challenging off-road landscapes. Furthermore, this bike boasts an adjustable Öhlins steering damper, offering riders the precise steering control necessary to navigate various terrains with confidence. Ducati's commitment to enhancing the off-road experience shines through in these impressive features.
Ducati's attention to detail in the 2024 DesertX Rally extends to the wheels, where they've introduced an array of upgrades to enhance performance. These wheels are not only stylish but also practical, boasting billet aluminum hubs, carbon steel spokes, and Excel Takasago rims. The result is a significant reduction in unsprung weight, contributing to improved handling and maneuverability in off-road conditions.
The choice of wheel sizes, with a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear, is ideal for conquering various terrains, and they come fitted with grippy Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, ensuring excellent traction. Adding to the DesertX Rally's rugged appearance and functionality are extra features like a high front mudguard for added protection, machined fork clamps for durability, and an eye-catching Iron Giant livery that gives the bike a distinct and memorable look. Ducati's commitment to creating a top-tier off-road machine is evident in every detail.
Although the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally doesn't come standard with additional fuel capacity, Ducati offers a practical solution for riders who crave extended range. They provide an optional auxiliary fuel tank as an accessory, offering an extra 8 liters of fuel capacity. This add-on ensures that adventurous riders can explore further afield without concerns about fuel stops.
