Ducati announces 2026 Multistrada V4 RS
The updated Multistrada V4 RS gets potent Panigale underpinnings.
Ducati’s Multistrada has always been about versatility. From its early days in the mid-2000s, the name stood for a motorcycle that could handle city commutes, weekend twisties, and long-distance tours with equal ease. Over time, the lineup split into flavors for different riders: the standard Multistrada for all-around use, the Enduro for rough roads, and the Pikes Peak for those who wanted sharper handling. Now, Ducati has introduced a new flagship—the Multistrada V4 RS—and it takes the idea of sport touring further than ever before.
What makes the RS special is its engine. Ducati pulled the 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 from its Panigale superbike and tuned it for touring duty. The result is a claimed 180 hp at 13,500 rpm, paired with a dry clutch and Akrapovič exhaust for that race-bred soundtrack. A shorter final drive than the Pikes Peak gives it quicker acceleration, while a unique “Full Power” mode delivers maximum output in every gear.
Ducati shaved weight to just 211 kg, making it the lightest Multistrada yet. A titanium subframe, lithium battery, and carbon fiber details all helped trim the fat, but practicality wasn’t sacrificed. The subframe is reinforced to carry a top box and panniers, so the RS can still cover serious miles. A monocoque frame, single-sided swingarm, forged aluminum wheels, and Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension complete the package, while Brembo Stylema brakes provide the stopping power.
Despite its performance focus, the RS doesn’t skimp on rider aids. The new Ducati Vehicle Observer system uses predictive software to adjust traction and stability control. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and forward collision warning come standard, showing that touring comfort hasn’t been forgotten. All settings are managed through a 6.5-inch TFT display with RS-specific graphics.
Ducati is calling the Multistrada V4 RS the “ultimate sport tourer,” and on paper, it certainly looks the part. Priced at $39,995 (around P2.35 million), it will arrive in international dealerships by March 2026. Local availability hasn’t been confirmed, but if Ducati Philippines brings it in, expect pricing north of P2.5 million. For riders who want a Multistrada with the heart of a Panigale, this could be the most extreme option yet.
