The neo-retro naked bike range gets a rugged scrambler iteration.

CFMOTO to launch the 700 CL-X ADV in Europe in 2023

CFMOTO, one of the most popular Chinese motorcycle manufacturers, has recently introduced a variety of remarkable motorcycles for the international market. Models like the NK series of naked motorcycles and the more recently introduced CL-X neo-retro range have been highly popular, especially in the Asian, European, and Australian markets.

The 700 CL-X ADV, another addition to CFMOTO's neo-retro CL-X lineup, will be available for the 2023 model year. As the name implies, it is a scrambler in retro fashion with a little bit of off-road aptitude provided by higher ground clearance and dual-sport tires. It shares the same platform as the 700 CL-X Heritage and Sport models.

A 693cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine that produces 70 horsepower and 43 lb-ft of torque powers the 700 CL-X ADV. A six-speed manual gearbox with a chain drive then transfers power to the rear wheel. The ADV lacks Brembo brakes and adjustable suspension, in contrast to its more expensive Sport version. Instead, it has a single solid disc brake at the back and a J.Juan floating disc brake up front, together with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Along with having dual-purpose rubber and a higher ground clearance, the 700 CL-X ADV also has more enduro-like aesthetic elements. As an illustration, a high fender exudes authentic classic enduro aesthetics. Additionally, there is a windshield that is fairly tall and integrated pannier racks that have the CL-X emblem styled on them. With its 13-liter gasoline tank fully fueled, the CL-X weighs in around 203 kilograms, making it a somewhat hefty motorcycle overall. Nevertheless, don't anticipate using this scrambler to land jumps or tear through tricky singletrack trails.

As for pricing and availability, CFMOTO has released the 700 CL-X Adventure in the European market for a retail price of 7,590 Euros, or the equivalent of P473,000. At present, CFMOTO Philippines has yet to confirm when the 700 CL-X ADV will be available in the local market. That being said, the 700 CL-X Heritage and Sport continue to be extremely popular here in the Philippines.
