Motorcyclists and car drivers who frequently pass the South Luzon Expressway, as well as other tollways that make use of the Autosweep RFID system are well acquainted with the chaos that occurred towards the tail-end of last year. After the Department of Transportation mandated that all tollways go cashless, motorists who had been relying on cash transactions to enter and exit the expressways scrambled to acquire RFID tags.
Up until now, both Autosweep and EasyTrip RFID systems are not yet fully cashless, with the implementation of the cashless system proving to be more difficult than expected. Luckily, SMC Tollways has announced that select BMW dealerships will be open for Autosweep RFID installation until January 30, 2021. The best part? You can bring your car or 400cc-plus motorcycle even if it isn’t a BMW. You’ll need to move fast, though, as only a limited number of slots are available.

For motorists who wish to avail of this service, be sure to schedule an appointment online via the Autosweep RFID website by completing the application form. It’s also important to note that you’ll need to load at least P200 upon installation of your RFID tag. For reference, here are the BMW dealerships open for Autosweep RFID installation from 9 AM to 5 PM:
- RSA Motors Alabang - Molito Lifestyle Center, Alabang
- RSA Motors Libis - 184 Eulogio Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, Bagumbayan, Quezon City
- Autoallee BMW - Eton Centris, EDSA, Quezon City
SMC Tollways reminds those who wish to avail of an Autosweep RFID tag via participating BMW dealerships to ensure that an appointment is made. That being said, walk-in installations will be denied. As we are all aware, the mandate for all tollways to go cashless is an effort to usher in contactless transactions as a measure against COVID-19. This initiative from SMC Tollways in cooperation with BMW Philippines shows the companies’ commitment to ensuring a safe and convenient motoring experience both for its customers and the general public.
