Aprilia RS457 GP brings MotoGP swagger to the middleweight class

Aprilia celebrates 10 years in MotoGP with a special-edition RS457 that blends race-ready style, real-world power, and everyday usability

Aprilia RS457 GP brings MotoGP swagger to the middleweight class

Few brands carry as much racing DNA as Aprilia. From the legendary RS250 two-strokes of the ’90s to the RS-GP bikes carving up today’s MotoGP grid, Aprilia has always blurred the line between racetrack and road. Now the brand’s middleweight sportbike, the RS457, gets a full MotoGP makeover with the new RS457 GP edition—proof that even smaller-displacement bikes can have big-race attitude.

Unveiled at EICMA 2025, the RS457 GP celebrates Aprilia’s decade-long run in MotoGP, featuring the same livery as the RS-GP machines ridden by Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin. Underneath the fresh paint, it’s the same playful and balanced sportbike that’s been winning riders over since its launch. Power comes from a liquid-cooled, 457cc parallel-twin engine pushing out 47hp and 43Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and standard quickshifter. The numbers aren’t huge, but paired with a sub-160kg weight, the RS457 feels alive on twisty roads and surprisingly competent on track.

Aprilia RS 457 GP Replica

Aprilia has given this GP edition a few smart upgrades. The braking system uses higher-friction pads for stronger bite, while the standard quickshifter now works for both up and downshifts. It keeps the same aluminum twin-spar frame and high-spec suspension—a 41mm fork with preload adjustment up front and a monoshock at the rear with 130mm of travel. The chassis balance remains the RS457’s secret weapon, delivering sharp turn-in and predictable stability that makes it ideal for riders stepping up from smaller bikes.

Visually, the MotoGP-inspired graphics give the RS457 an edge over its rivals. It looks every bit like a race replica but without the price tag or power intimidation of a literbike. The 5-inch TFT display and three-level traction control round out a package that’s equally at home on the daily ride or the weekend track day.

At around £6,600 (roughly P470,000), the RS457 GP hits that sweet spot where performance meets accessibility. It’s stylish, light, forgiving, and—most importantly—fun. For anyone who grew up dreaming of Aprilia’s race bikes, this one makes that fantasy just a bit more reachable.
