2021 Yamaha WR155 R Philippines

The Yamaha WR 155R is now officially launched in the Philippines. Dual-sport fans may now rejoice because this bike is now available in all Yamaha 3S showrooms, with P169,000 as its suggested retail price.

A 155 cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder motivates the bike. A similar powerplant to the XSR 155, and R15 V3, the WR 155R also produces power figures along the same lines. With 14.7 hp at 10,000 RPM and 14.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM, the bike is capable of its class. On top of the capable motor, the WR 155R comes with a 6-speed gearbox to maximize the power from the 155 cc displacement. To further maximize the power output of the WR155 R’s mill, Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology has been incorporated into the bike.

As for ergonomics and dimensions, the WR 155R’s seat height comes in at 880 mm tall, while its weight is at 134 kg. Yamaha also advertises is the rather large fuel tank, which comes in at 8.1 liters, front and rear disc brakes, semi-double-cradle frame, front KYB telescopic forks, and a rear-mono shock with preload adjustment engineered with Yamaha’s linked-type monocross suspension system. The suspension also features up to 41 mm of travel, making for a more capable ride over any terrain. The LCD multifunction display that comes with the motorcycle contains a speed, tachometer, gear indicator, fuel level indicator, trip meter, and odometer, all on a backlit LCD screen. The features don’t stop there, however, as riders are also treated to hazard lights.

All Yamaha 3S dealers will be able to take orders from any customers looking for a capable motorcycle from team blue. At P169,000 the WR 155R is placed nicely against other dual-sport offerings in the market from the likes of Honda’s CRF150L. Time will tell how well Yamaha's offering does in the country, however, things are looking promising with the popular motorcycle manufacturer.
