2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 to launch in India this September
Could we be getting this model soon?
Ducati recently announced its intention to launch the 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 in the Indian market. The new SuperSport is expected to arrive in the South Asian country this September.
Introduced back in November 2020, the SuperSport 950 had not received an update since 2017. Fans had eagerly awaited the facelift to this model, and Ducati delivered in a big way. The 2021 model was unveiled with Panigale-inspired design cues that were more than a little bit surprising. Reception has been warm, and Ducati has since started to roll out the new model into other markets.
The 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 features the same 937cc L-twin engine found on the Hypermotard 950 and Multistrada 950. Capable of 110 hp and 93 Nm of torque, the Euro-5 power plant connects to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is equipped with high-end Brembo brakes, with two 320mm discs and four-piston Monoblock calipers at the front and a 245mm disc and two-piston caliper setup at the rear.
Ducati's new supersport bike now features a six-axis Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU) for better traction control and wheelie control. The new model also gets a 4.3-inch TFT instrument panel. Its other features include a quick shifter, adjustable hydraulic clutch control, and three riding modes.
Now that the bike's Indian launch is imminent, could we be getting the new model soon as well? It's difficult to say, and nothing has been confirmed. For now, fans will have to settle for the Ducati SuperSport S.
Powered by a 937cc Testastretta 11-degree L-Twin, liquid-cooled, Desmodromic Distribution engine, the SuperSport S churns out 110 hp and 93 Nm of torque. The SuperSport is equipped with a halogen headlamp, LED tail lamp, digital gauge, quick shifter, and a riding mode selector. Its safety features include an anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control, slipper clutch, engine immobilizer, steering damper, and a pass switch. The Ducati SuperSport 950 comes in two colors: Ducati Red and Arctic White. Prices start at P1,040,000.
